Spiritual Healing for the Cheyenne and Arapaho on Thanksgiving

The history of the initial contact between the natives and white men is grim as we all know. One sad chapter involves the massacre at Sand Creek where 160 Arapaho and Cheyenne were gunned down despite the fact that they were on a reservation and waving American and white flags. These were elders, women and children as well as their husbands and sons. This Thanksgiving there will be a commemorative walk in Boulder, Colorado called "One Action One Boulder" to try to heal the wound that still some people feel. None of these tribal members now live in Colorado as they were all removed from their lands.
Cheyenne and Arapaho runners will complete a 170-mile Spiritual Healing Run/Walk from the Sand Creek Massacre site to Denver in honor of LaForce Lee Lonebear. This is how they describe the Run:
“The Sand Creek Massacre Spiritual Healing Run/Walk is a prayer. (It) is not a race. (It) is a commemoration for the victims and survivors of the massacre, and for healing ancestral homelands. (It) is led by an Eagle staff representing prayers of the spiritual leaders who had a vision of healing and reconciliation for the descendants of those killed at the Sand Creek Massacre site and for the future generations.”
The Cheyenne and Arapaho have invited local communities to participate in a variety of ways. To see the original article, click here. What do you think about this action? Is it digging up old pain or is it a good way to establish restorative justice? Leave a comment below.

Spiritual Healing Retreat of the Week: Fivelements

Here is a fascinating retreat place located on the Indonesian island of Bali, a magical place in its own right. This is more high end than the retreats I have featured before, but if you have the money to spend, this award-winning location will pamper you with the great Balinese healing techniques, and you can stay in luxurious and private rooms surrounded by trees and lush vegetation. Here are some comments from the website: http://www.fivelements.com

Spiritual Healing Retreat of the Week: Fivelements

Fivelements is a company co-creating holistic healing destinations.Heartquartered at Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa healing centre in Bali, Indonesia, the parent company intends to create an alliance of healing centres around the globe that will bridge the wisdom of traditional healing cultures and promote peace among nations through the growth of these mystic economies.
At Fivelements, Puri Ahimsa, healing is inspired by the Balinese way of life, which encourages us to nurture harmony with spirit, the environment and with one another. Similarly, our holistic approach is designed to tune-in on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels, allowing an organic healing process to naturally unfold. We collaborate with our guests to activate, facilitate and nurture a new healing path, and this begins by honouring our highest potential.
Fivelements embraces holistic Balinese-inspired therapies administered by traditional Balinese healers using ancient wisdoms passed down from direct lineage. Following the Balinese principle of Sekala-Niskala, which holds that we all live equally in two worlds; the seen or conscious world Sekala, and the unseen or psychic world Niskala, the Balinese healers engage the help of the higher divine source during each healing session.
Healing rituals include a combination of meditation, deep bodywork and prana energy, performed by healers whose gifted talents have been handed down through generations of Balinese families. Energy Healing introduces the powerful Panca Mahabhuta in which Pak Wayan works to balance the five elements of earth, water, fire, air and ether within the body.
